Considered by many as the ultimate Biohack for the Brain, Neurofeedback is a newer form of Biofeedback that has been heavily researched and available for over a generation. This treatment method allows us to provide individualized training programs designed to help you optimize your brain across goals of stress, sleep, attention, brain fog, creativity, and peak athletic performance. Whether you are an individual, a corporate executive, or an athlete, Neurofeedback Brain Training may be essential to your success.
What is Neurofeedback Brain Training?
Neurofeedback targets and trains specific areas of dysregulation of your brain based on the feedback we receive during the Initial Assessment (Brain Map) and your Self-assessment. Through this targeted approach we can increase overall brain coherence, resulting in more acuity, creativity, focus, and stress reduction. The training provides for the creation of new Neuroplastic connections in the brain. Historically, scientists believed that the brain stopped growing after childhood. But current research shows that the brain is able to continue growing and changing throughout the lifespan, refining its architecture or shifting functions to different regions of the brain. Because it is safe, drug-free, and non-invasive, we offer this treatment program to ages 7 and higher. The results are long-term and long-lasting with some estimates for up to thirty years. More information on how it works can be found HERE.
Who are good candidates for Neurofeedback?
- Many individuals contact us regarding issues that they consider to be negative characteristics; the multi-tasking CEO with an ADHD-like approach to seven issues they are dealing with at the same time. However, the ability to manage these may be their strongest attribute.
- Others have come to us because, for one reason or another, they feel they are increasingly losing their short-term memory. They have noticed an increase in Verbal Episodic Retrieval where they continue to have words at the tip of their tongue.
- Others are athletes who wish to perform at their highest level and understand the correlation between a sound body and a sound mind. The physical, emotional, and mental stress involved with high-intensity performance can be difficult and create imbalance. Through Neurofeedback, you can replace damaged connections within your brain, improving performance and enhancing you mentally and emotionally.
- Others are suffering from symptoms of mental health conditions like Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, and PTSD.
Getting started with Neurofeedback:
To get started we would need to pre-assess you and, if you qualified, send you your Self-Assessment information (subjective). We schedule the Initial Assessment which uses Quantitative Electroencephalography (qEEG) to provide a Brain Map. Once completed, we compare your results to your self-assessment as well as to a large database of “normative brains” to determine a Treatment Plan.
We then provide an In-office Neurofeedback treatment to demonstrate how to utilize the device in the comfort of their home while we monitor the results in our office. The typical treatment plan calls for between 40-60 sessions, however, by using the remote device, our clients can cut their treatment plan time in half by undergoing up to two treatments a day instead of 3 per week in the office.
Dr. Frank H. Duffy, Professor & Pediatric Neurologist at Harvard Medical School stated that “Neurofeedback should play a major therapeutic role in many difficult areas. In my opinion, if any medication had demonstrated such a wide spectrum of efficacy it would be universally accepted and widely used.” If you would like to schedule a consultation, please contact us by calling (772) 584-3083 or texting (772) 213-1245.
Because we do not accept insurance for this treatment, we provide you with a Superbill which you can then submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
